The new National Executives of Omo Ibile Igbomina have got the signs that they will get the needed support that will make it easy for them to get off to a good start.Members of the new exco headed by Chief Bisi Fakayode took oath of office at the Igbomina House, Ganmo penultimate Saturday.To ease transportation for the association’s events and activities, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun has made a brand-new hummer bus available for their use.The donation was made during the inauguration ceremony of the new National Executives of the association penultimate Saturday.Omo Ibile Igbomina is a non-political socio-cultural platform that brings together all Igbomina people home and abroad. Ora-Igbomina residents further acknowledged the role of both the mass and social media for bringing the incident to national attention despite the community’s remote location’ he said.Dr Farounbi also thanked traditional rulers in Ifedayo local government especially the Orangun of Oke-Ila and the Asaoni of Ora-Igbomina for their concern, support and intervention.DC OgundejiHead of the Kwara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ilorin, DC Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi, has got off on the right foot and he is really doing well.DC Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi who assumed duty in December last year has announced seizure of smuggled goods worth N1,219,209,369 in less than one month! ‘Within this short period, the Area Command has successfully intercepted and seized various consignments of prohibited and improperly imported goods.These seizures were made through diligent patrols, credible intelligence, and sustained enforcement operations across our area of responsibility. The seized items include, but are not limited to: 389 bales of second-hand clothing; 108 sacks of used bags. Both items were intercepted around Ogbomosho-Eiyenkorin express way, Kwara State at about 0434hrs; 6,500 litres of PMS intercepted at various patrol bases along border lines in Bukuro axis; 450 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50kg each intercepted at various patrol bases along border lines in Okuta axis; Three vehicles: a new Toyota Land cruiser jeep VX 2025 model and a new Lexus jeep LX 600, 2025 model that were intercepted in Bode Saadu area of Kwara State, and a Mercedes Benz GLE350 2016 Model that was intercepted in the Okuta axis of Kwara State. The vehicles are kept in custody for further investigation and action; 170 pieces of used tyres intercepted along Lagos/Jebba Express way.
