
Gov Adeleke Chronicles Achievements, Says He Deserves A 2nd Term

Ahead of the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election, Governor Ademola Adeleke has asserted that he has valid and reasonable reasons to launch a re-election bid while citing his administration’s record of performance and fulfilment of electoral promises.
The governor said this when a delegation of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADS), Osun State Council visited him at the Government House, Osogbo.
The delegation was jointly led by the National Vice President of ADS, retired Justice Adeigbe and the Chairman of Osun State chapter, Chief Daud Oladapo.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the state Secretary of ADS, Dr Afeez Akande praised the governor’s performance and pledged the support of the organization for the continuity of his administration.
‘We have been following what you are doing and your track records. You are wonderful and you are marvelous in our eyes. The monumental works you have been doing in Osun make it look like we have never had a Governor like this before’ Dr Akande said.
He also noted that Adeleke administration’s projects are known for timely delivery and strategic impact on the lives of residents.
‘We have identified that once you embark on projects, they are time-bound. It shows genuine administrative acumen, love for the state and love for the people’ he added.
Dr Akande also cited infrastructural developments, specifically the ongoing dualisation of roads, notably that of Iwo while noting that this has shown the governor’s vision-driven leadership.
‘That road project has helped to boost economic activities in the area. Such a development can only come from someone with vision who follows through with implementation. We appreciate what you are doing and we are resolved to support the continuity’ he said.
Responding, Governor Adeleke thanked the delegation for the visit and restated his commitment to people-centred governance.
‘Today marks the starting point of campaigning for the August 15, 2026 governorship election. We need your prayers and support for a free and fair election through which the will of the people will prevail’ the governor said.
Governor Adeleke also unveiled an upgraded Five-Point Agenda that will drive his re-election campaign.
‘Our reloaded Five-Point Agenda will focus on integrated youth, women and workers’ welfare and empowerment; infrastructure consolidation for citizens’ social and economic wellbeing; agro-industrial expansion for human development and collective prosperity; affordable and qualitative health and education access; and an improved and secured business environment for job creation’ he said.
Explaining why he deserves a second term, the governor cited his administration’s record across several sectors.
‘When the opposition asked whether I deserve to be re-elected, I told them ‘yes, based on my performance in this first term in office, I deserve re-election because of what our administration has delivered for the people of Osun’. We have empowered the cooperative movement with almost four billion naira, strengthened community development associations with grassroots health and infrastructure projects, and implemented the Imole Medical Outreach that has benefited almost eighty thousand residents’ he said.
He added that his administration has also revived agriculture and rural development across the state.
‘We revived the cocoa revolution through aggressive seedling distribution and new farmers’ initiatives, acquired brand new tractors now serving farmers across the state, and implemented thousands of local projects through integrated rural development under the O-RAMP programme’ he said.
Governor Adeleke further highlighted his administration’s achievements in governance, infrastructure and economic management.
‘We introduced a 45-day window for the acquisition of Certificates of Occupancy, revived the Osun Free Trade Zone with active investors, digitized tax and revenue collection, and implemented the SIFMIS payroll application to ensure transparency in the management of public funds.
We have constructed over 350 kilometre of roads, developed three major flyover bridges, revived six moribund waterworks, drilled 332 boreholes across wards, rehabilitated schools and health centres, and paid inherited half salaries and almost one hundred billion naira in pension debts’ he added.
Governor Adeleke also assured the people of Osun that his administration will continue to deliver inclusive governance and sustainable development if re-elected.
‘My promise to the people of Osun is that now and when we are re-elected, we will continue to run an inclusive and forward-looking government that keeps the people at the centre of our programmes and policies’ he said.

Bibire Ajape Throws Tantrums At Saraki

Sure, you know him or must have heard about him.
Alhaji Usman Bibire Ajape is a popular politician in Kwara State and he was one of the strong foot soldiers of late Dr Olusola Saraki and later Dr Bukola Saraki.
He served as Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation and Chairman of Ilorin East during the Bukola Saraki administration.
Giving his speech at an event in Ilorin penultimate week Alhaji Usman Bibire Ajape, who is now an APC chieftain, threw tantrums at Dr Bukola Saraki and said he is doing things in a disorganized way.
He also said the former Senate President ought to beg Kwarans for forgiveness.
Kunle Sulyman Is Dead
A popular lawyer and politician in Kwara State, Alhaji Kunle Sulyman died in Ilorin last week.
The deceased politician was an APC bigwig and a member of the Elders Caucus.
His son, Barrister Senior Sulyman, is currently serving as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Kwara State.
Rauf Ajakaye Earns Doctorate Degree From LASU

Mr Rafiu Ajakaye , who is Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s Chief Press Secretary, has received a doctorate degree from the Lagos State University (LASU).
The top journalist defended the thesis on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the university, concluding years of rigorous research and academic work toward the award of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
There has been an outpouring of congratulations for Dr Rafiu Ajakaye.
UNILORIN Partners NNPC
A joint strategic committee that will promote cooperation between the University of Ilorin and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) have been set up to work towards the establishment of a Centre of Excellence at the institution which will be the first in West Africa.
It will be dedicated to practical engineering and technology-driven research; the endowment of an NNPC professorial chair at the Better by far University to promote industry-leading expertise was also discussed.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, led the UNILORIN team to the meeting while the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the NNPCL, Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari, led the NNPC officials.

Professor Muritala Awodun joined family members, friends, and eminent personalities in Lagos to celebrate the life and legacy of his late father-in-law, Deacon Edet Nyong Thomas, who passed on November 16, 2025.
The solemn yet uplifting gathering, brought together loved ones and well-wishers from across Nigeria and abroad, who assembled to honour the memory of the respected elder, whose life was defined by faith, discipline, and service.
Late Deacon Edet Nyong Thomas lived a fulfilled and impactful life devoted to God, family, and country. He retired in the 1999 as a Chief Superintendent of Customs, after decades of meritorious service to Nigeria. Throughout his lifetime, he was widely respected for his integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment to national duty.
He is survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who continue to uphold the enduring values of faith, honour, and service that defined his life.
Among his proud children is Deaconess Marian Awodun, wife of Professor Muritala Awodun, the PDP Senatorial Aspirant for Kwara South.
Speaking during the gathering, Prof. Muritala Awodun paid glowing tribute to the late patriarch, describing him as a man of deep wisdom, compassion, and exemplary character.
Deacon Thomas was a principled family man whose life embodied love, moral strength, and quiet leadership.
