Amazon of the Saraki family, Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki was around in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital last week.
The former Minister of State for Transportation and former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, who is an APC bigwig was in town to interact with supporters and renew her membership of the party and she has done that at Ajikobi Central Ward, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. She also paid a solemn condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Imam of Ilorin, His Eminence, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu.
She expressed her deep sympathies and commiserated with them over the passing of the revered religious and community leader.
Hajia Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki described the late Chief Imam as a pillar of wisdom, peace and unity while also noting that he has left an indelible mark on the Ilorin Emirate and the entire Muslim community.
‘Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu (OON) was more than a religious leader; he was a moral compass and a unifying figure whose teachings transcended boundaries. His legacy of promoting harmony and spiritual growth has left an indelible mark on the Ilorin Emirate and the entire Muslim community. His guidance will be profoundly missed’ she said.

A popular politician in Kwara State, who is a member of the Board of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun turned 56 on January 29, 2026 and it was an outpouring of birthday wishes for him.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Senator Sadiq Umar and Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun were among prominent politicians who jointly led the chorus of ‘happy birthday.
The birthday celebrant had since issued a statement to thank those who sent him birthday wishes.
