
Brigadier General Nicholas Rume Is New Head Of 22 Armoured Brigade
Brigadier General Nicholas Nemetne Rume has been appointed as Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Nigerian Army, Sobi, Ilorin. He assumed duty on 22 October 2025 during a colourful handing and taking over ceremony held at the Headquarters, 22 Armoured Brigade between Brigadier General Rume and his predecessor, Brigadier General Ezra Bawa Barkins.
In his remarks, the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Barkins expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for the opportunity to serve as Commander of the Brigade.
He appreciated officers and soldiers for their loyalty, professionalism and support throughout his tenure, urging them to extend the same and even greater cooperation to his successor to ensure continued operational success in the Brigade’s area of responsibility.
The ceremony featured the signing of the handing and taking over notes, a farewell address to troops by the outgoing Commander and the symbolic presentation of the command flag to the incoming Commander.
A highlight of the event was the hoisting of the new Brigade flag at the Quarter Guard, signifying the beginning of a new era in the Brigade’s leadership.
Osun Born Davido Visits France President Macron
Afrobeats star, Mr David Adeleke who is popularly called Davido, met with the French President, Mr Emmanuel Macron penultimate week.
This is the second time he will visit a powerful president this year.
Recall that he visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos and also a few days later visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja about five months ago.
Mr David Adeleke is an indigene of Ede, Osun State and his uncle, Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke is the current governor of the State of the Living Spring.
