Uche Maduagwu who came out as a gay man in January 2021, says he is planning on embarking on a march to demand an end to the anti-gay law in Nigeria.

The controversial Nollywood actor revealed this during the early hours of Saturday, February 27.

His post on Instagram reads;

”Coming out as gay remains the best decision I ever made.

I lost endorsement deals, movie roles and friends because of this so join me as we embark on the #EndAntiGayLawNaija peaceful road protest”.

The Nollywood actor made this known via his Instagram page on Thursday, January 28, 2021; where he shared a post with a tag “Proudly Gay.”

The actor is the first known celebrity in Nigeria to openly come out as gay.

Maduagwu is a popular actor who became famous for trolling politicians, celebrities, as well as pastors on social media.

Since he came out as gay, Uche Maduagwu has been on a roll; putting up an outspoken and bold outlook.

Recall that former President Goodluck Jonathan signed the anti-gay law in January 2014.

Specifically, the law prohibits homosexual activities in Nigeria, which include gay marriages. Also, it prescribes a 14-year term for any gay person caught in the act of homosexuality.

The actor also asked President Biden to sanction the Nigerian government over the law. He alleged that 40% of the current lawmakers and 12 state governors are “homosexuals.”

His letter to Biden below:

”Dear President Joe Biden,

I am proudly gay and I beg you to place sanctions on the Nigerian government for its inhuman laws against law-abiding homosexuals.

Yet this same government pampers wicked Fulani herdsmen who kidnap and cause trouble in the southern part of Nigeria.

We are tired, and scared despite the fact that more than 40% of current legislatures; and over twelve governors are homosexuals in Naija. Why the hypocrisy?”
