Obey, Kollington Attend as K1 De Ultimate Hosts ‘Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’s 1st Colloquium’

Fuji music icon and Mayegun of Yorubaland, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, aka K1 De Ultimate, on Wednesday 16th of March 2022, convened the first colloquium to honour the late Fuji music legend, Alhaji (Dr.) Sikiru Ayinde Barrister. It was the first of such honour since Barrister’s exit from the world on December 16, 2010.
The event, according to the organizers, will become an annual tradition.
Sikiru Ololade Ayinde Balogun, MFR, was a Nigerian-born Yoruba singer-songwriter, song producer and musical performer who blazed the Were/Ajisari/Fuji music in Nigeria.
The legendary music icon, role model and national hero had his first musical break in 1965 and went on to release over 70 studio albums.
The event, held at the Raddison Blu, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State, featured lectures, tributes, and musical concerts from prominent Nigerians.
In attendance to honour the memory of Ayinde Barrister were prominent figures in the entertainment industry, music giants, media icons, businessmen, including Barrister’s fans from far and wide, children and family members.
They include Juju music legend, Chief (Evangelist) Commander Ebenezer Obey, Alhaji Kollignton Ayinla, Steve Ayorinde, Mayor Akinpelu, Iyanda Sawaba, Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, Tunde Kelani, Sesan Rufai, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, 9ice, Barry Jhay, Taiye Currency, and a host of other Fuji music performers.
The host, K1 De Ultimate, while making his thank you address, promised to make subsequent editions of the colloquium more inclusive and interesting adding that the government would be encouraged to immortalize his late music godfather in the nearest future.
