‘Queen of Red Carpet’ Mother’s Burial Shindig Still Talk of The Town *VIPs who attended

Days after  the carnival-like burial ceremony of Dame Margaret Adaoyibo Okonkwo (nee Dokai), mother of international filmmaker, HRM, Queen Florence Okonkwo better known as Queen of Red Carpet, the event still remains talk of the town.

Okonkwo who, flew in from her London base to make preparations for the bash, became the cynosure of all eyes at the event with her chicly and unique style.

 Dignitaries came in droves to honour her.

The burial activities commenced in Lagos with a Christian wake at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Festac Town on April 11 and the Mass held on April 12, 2024. Internment took place on April 19 at Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

Okonkwo, on behalf of the family, used the opportunity of the occasion to thank the clergymen, His Grace the Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins; His Eminence Anthony Cardinal Olubunmi Okojie, the parish priest and Dean of Festac Deanery, Very Rev. Dr. Melvis Mayaki; his associates, members of the Catholic church, Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Ogwashi Uku; the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Dominic Chukwudi and other distinguished guests including the Actors Guild of Nigeria led by the president, Chief Emeka Rollas; President of Ohaneze Worldwide, Chief Chinwe Owoh; Festac Girls Alumni; NTA; ElegantFlix; media team; family members; relations, well-wishers and corporate organisations. Queen Florence also appreciated the ElegantFlix executives as well as Nollywood UK and numerous other friends.

The deceased’s grandson, Mark Okonkwo, also flew in from the UK to pay his last respects while he took time to visit Cardinal Olubunmi Okojie in Lagos for spiritual blessings.
