Lagos-based businesswoman and founder of not-for-profit charity organization, ‘Tree of Life’. Bunmi Tejuoso’s story is quite a touching one, to say the least. She is one of those lucky ones who found love at a tender age. At 23, she was already married to her lover and soul mate, Prince Kunle Tejuoso.

The young couple’s love flourished. Suddenly Kunle passed away at the age of 38. She lost her soulmate to the cold, cruel hands of death. Death, the enemy of man struck too early. That sad event completely changed the beautiful woman’s world. She became the family’s breadwinner.

This tragic experience exposed her to the plight of widows, particularly young widows who are often a forgotten group of people in the society. Inspired by her own personal tragedy, Bunmi co-founded Tree of Life with her close friend who is a widow as well,Hajia Zainab Waziri.

The foundation was officially inaugurated about six years ago by Lagos-based pastor Ituah Ighodalo.

The foundation’s goal is to provide support – moral and, more importantly, financial support for the widows to keep their heads above water. In a country where there is no agency saddled with the welfare of the widows, the not-for-profit foundation has stepped to the plate to provide succour to these grieving widows.

Bunmi’s foundation is also investing in support empowerment of the widows through counseling and financial independence trainings.

The foundation has done a lot in the area of service to widows in the country. And they are working relentless on how to expand the reach to more widows across the country.

Described as an epitome of beauty and brain, Bunmi Tejuoso has continued to be a blessing to humanity.

She is a doting mother who has done a great job by raising well-mannered and Godly children.
