The Public Relations Officer for the Tinubu New York Support Group (TNSG) in United States, Alhaji Aremu Jimoh has hailed the judgment delivered by the Supreme Court which affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu as winner of the February 25, 2023 Presidential election.
This reaction was contained in a statement made available to the Nigerian media on Thursday, including veracitydesk.com.ng via an email.
Alhaji Aremu said the Apex Court’s verdict was victory for rule of law, democracy and the people of Nigeria, adding that with the verdict, “it is now glaring that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.”
According to him, “The entire leadership and members of Tinubu New York Support Group (TNSG) here in United States are very happy with the judgment given by the Supreme Court on Thursday, October 26, 2023 and that is why we are openly expressing our profound joy particularly to affirm our loyalty and commitment to the government of the day, led by President (Asiwaju) Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
“I think we are now having a judiciary we supposed to have. When you look at the judgment, the Supreme Justices in their ruling dispensed justice without bias, sentiments or favour, their verdict was purely based on the empirical evidences laid before them. This should be commended and it also shows that there is future for our nation. All of us in diaspora feel so great and proud to be called Nigerians.
“However, we would like to appeal to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of PDP and his counterpart in Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi to close ranks with President Tinubu so as to commence the process of healing Nigeria in the spirit of national interest.
“Without sounding immodest, it is now time for His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, to focus more on governance, to be more diligent in his appointments, and as well create time to unify the ruling APC and make amends where necessary.
“TNSG equally pleads with the President who we know to have good listening ears to renew old bonds with true friends and heal old wounds, unite the country and effectively consolidate on his victory at poll and the court by offering good governance as contained in his renewed hope agenda.
“Now that there is no more legal distractions around Mr President, it is therefore our prayer and wish to see him revamp our economy, restore security, create jobs, provide transformative infrastructure, improve electricity supply and enhance the living conditions of the masses. May God bless our President and bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.” The statement said.
