Nigerian born UK based gospel songstress, Sophy-Yah, has released yet another hot single titled ‘Stop The Hurt’. The anti-domestic violence track, which is already attracting popular review, is coming after the last hit single titled ‘Higher’, which also was a followup to ‘Less of Me’, a 2018 single track that became an instant anthem among her admirers.

Beautiful Sophy-Yah, music observers say, is not just famous as an energetic recording and performing artiste, her melodious gospel vibes also exudes celestial grace, evident in the popular endorsement of most of her songs.

Sophy-Yah sings a blend of Gospel Hip-Hop and R&B. She prides herself as an anointed singer who, since she became passionate about things of God at age 13, sings to encourage and bless the heart of people with her natural voice.

The latest song, she said in an interview with the Editor, FOLORUNSHO HAMSAT, is being released in support of Women’s Aid UK, a United Kingdom based charity group that cares for abused women.

Would you like to tell readers who Sophy-Yah really is?

I started using my music talent at a very young age. I had featured at Christian concerts, seminars and award ceremonies, both in Nigeria and the UK. In 2012, for instance, I was a member of the choir that recorded the British Broadcasting Cooperation (BBC) theme song title ‘First Step’ at the Abbey Road Studio, UK for the 2012 Olympics. Presently, I’m the music ambassador for London based International Women of Power, (IWOP), a youth advocacy group for ‘The Truth About Drug’ which also serves as influencer for a lot of brands like; Hairfinity USA, Mumzz Backpack Singapore , Shero Science USA, Poppy Apparel USA, Femme Luxe UK, Organic Asap Hong Kong, Proteeth Whitening Co UK, and a host of others.

Tell us about your new single track.

My new single, ‘Stop The Hurt’, preaches extensively about dangers of domestic violence. The song advocates that no one should go through any sorts of abuse; be it physical, psychological or emotional as it can be really damaging. That is why the proceeds from the sale of this song will be donated to Women’s Aid UK for their effort to rescue abused women.

What is your expectation from your fans regarding this new song?

I’m not expecting from my fans only, I’m expecting that every member of the public that the song gets to, it will impact, and I hope and have the trust that the song will attract many listeners and it will help remedy the ills in the society. The song can be downloaded from my website www.sophyyahmusic.com I’m urging my fans and the general public to lend their support to this advocacy by buying my song from the website.

Have you been lucky to feature with top artistes since you started singing?

Yes, I had shared platforms with great gospel musicians like Chevelle Franklin, Noel Robinson, Bob Fit, Original King Arthur, Nicole C. Mullen, Damita Haddon, Sonnie Badu, Kym Mazelle, Lurine Cato, Tim Godfrey, Raymond & Co, as well as other UK, African and American gospel artistes.

What do you aim to achieve as a singer?

My purpose is to use music to express my creativity and touch lives positively and win souls for God as well as inspiring people of different age groups to reach their full potentials. My desire also is to help people connect to the love that is eternal, which is the reason of our existence. I’m blessed and privileged to be one of God’s chosen vessels in this end time to preach God’s word through music.
