The atmosphere was heated up inside the Trinity House of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo during a seminar to celebrate his 61st Birthday, as prominent Nigerians shared their opinion on the Theme of the Colloquium, The African Christian Leadership: Radical Transformation In Unsettled Times.
Held on Thursday, March 31st, 2022 under the Chairmanship of former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun, the Keynote Speaker of the day, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos spoke extensively on who exactly we can call a leader, while appealing to Nigerian leaders in government to give youths opportunities or they may be forced to take it by the jugular.
Meanwhile, some of the highlights of the day were recorded during the discussion segment where one of the discussant, Dr Siju Iluyomade made so many points about Christian Leadership out of which agog the the audience into laudable applause.
Dr Siju, who is the Convener Arise Women, a non profit organisation that has assisted Indigents across the country with several Humanitarian projects, was visibly passionate about why Nigerian leaders must be ready to build new leaders by their traits and actions. According to her ” Leadership isn’t about religion, we all have responsibility of leading by examples and traits, I am not convinced that even if any Christian leader get to the position of authority he or she will be able to represent us well because of the prevalent situation we found ourselves.”
The delectable Lawyer of over three decades was also supported by other discussants like Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock, Rev. Samuel Aboyeji of the Foursquare Gospel Church and Pastor Joseph Obayemi of RCCG.
All the discussants jointly agreed in their various contributions that there is need for religious leaders to participate actively in leadership of its country but he or she must possess attributes of leaders as taught by the holy Bible.
The Trinity House under Pastor Ighodalo among others honoured Dr Iluyomade with Distinguished Amazon Award for her effort in providing succour for millions of Nigeria through her selfless effort with Arise Women.
