A four-man robbery gang on Wednesday afternoon invaded the bureau de change market at Shitta area of Surulere, Lagos, shot and killed two Hausa operators and made away with huge amount of hard currencies.
An eyewitness told this magazine that luck ran out on one of the robbers as he fell off the okada while trying to escape from the scene when he ran out of bullets.
He was subsequently caught by youths of the area who had already gathered while some of them even took advantage of the situation to harass the innocent.
Sources said that the incident happened around 3pm and it wasn’t until about one hour after three of the robbers had left before the police came to the scene and took the injured suspect away.
Three passers-by were confirmed wounded in the incident.
