One thing is sure about billionaires, when they go on spending spree, it’s sure to hit the news, no matter the modesty of the celebration that inspires them to do it. Besides, you can’t but take notice when tens or hundreds of millions of cash are flowing freely.

Thursday, 6th of July, 2017 was such a day for the chairman of  Globacom, Dr. Michael Agbolade Ishola Adenuga Jr, GCON, GSC. The billionaire entrepreneur was in an unusual element as he publicly displayed his joy and pleasure at the wedding of his first child, Oyindamola Eunice Adenuga to Adeolu Abayomi Olufeko.

The event was modestly arranged yet in every perspective classy and to the very taste of Adenuga’s caliber.  There was cash to spend and those who witnessed the party said the business mogul did it with style. Also not left out in the ecstatic show of blessing was Adenuga’s first wife and mother of the bride, Mrs. Adefolake Emilia Adenuga (nee Marquis). Adefolake is the mother of Adenuga’s five eldest kids, Oyindamola, Jide, Paddy, Bella and Eniola.

Significantly, Global Excellence magazine learnt that both the bride and groom clocked 39 years of age this year. The groom who is older by six months is the son of Late Prince Adewunmi Abayomi and Mrs Olubola Olufunmilayo Samuel-Olufeko, from Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The two-fold wedding ceremony which started on Thursday, with an engagement ceremony, was held at the Banana Island residence of the Adenugas. The colour dictate of the day for the engagement was “cobalt blue and emerald green gele” (headtie) for women and same colour of cap for men, while aso-ebi was said to have been for about ₦60,000 only.

The very exclusive event was graced by a handful of guests. The entire arrangement for the wedding was shrouded in secrecy as those who should know about it were said not to have been invited, while those who were lucky enough to attend were begged to keep it a top secret and not to take pictures of any kind. There was even a ‘Social Media Notice’ card attached to the invitation card on which the ‘warning’ was inscribed.
On the bandstand to entertain the guests was King Sunny Ade popularly known as KSA. A source told Global Excellence magazine that the Juju music icon got more than he bargained for from the bride’s father.

While thrilling guests with his memorable numbers and captivating dance steps, Dr. Adenuga reportedly could not hide his joy as he rained bale of Naira notes on KSA. According to an eyewitness, what KSA got from Dr Adenuga on stage was about N70 million, though N50m was sprayed on him in bulk.

Reacting to the rain of wads and wads of Naira notes, the source told Global Excellence magazine that KSA suddenly went dramatic on stage by tucking his native agbada wear in his trousers then loaded bulks of cash into it while he reportedly roamed up and down the stage announcing his ‘pregnancy’.  Popular comedian, Tunde Adewale, Tee-A, compared the programmes.

As the party ended and KSA was making his way out of the place with his band the next morning, a source said the legenday singer was invited back by Dr Adenuga. The billionaire in a further show of appreciation reportedly gave bulks of 100 Dollar bills to KSA.

The music icon was overheard telling some of his friends that he had never been so blessed by any celebrant since his music career started.

The second leg of the wedding came up on Saturday, 8th of July, 2017, at the Adenugas’ home in Banana Island. The elderly female guests adorned red and gold gele on red lace, while the male guests put on red cap.
