The campaign organization of Dr Ladi Adebutu has dismissed the purported expulsion of its principal, by the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, saying it is laughable and ridiculous.

In a press release signed by Omooba Segun Adewale and made available to the media on Thursday, he accused Jimi Lawal of engaging in series of anti-party activities capable of smearing the chances of PDP ahead of the February 2023 governorship election in the state.

Adewale who is the Director of Communications and strategy for Ladi Adebutu Campaign Organisation said the misleading report which suggested that Adebutu had been expelled from the party should be treated with contempt and disdain, adding that such information are lies and deceptions from the pit of hell.

The statement which was titled, “Expulsion Of Ladi Adebutu From Ogun PDP: A Mere Comedy Skit By Jimi Lawal And Co” said:

“I have read with utter disgust the lies and deceptions from the pit of hell being peddled around, suggesting that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate for the 2023 Ogun guber election, Dr Ladi Adebutu was among those expelled from the party by its leadership.

“As a key stakeholder of the party in Ogun State, I make bold to say every Nigerian should please treat the misleading and despicable report with utmost contempt and disdain that it deserves.

“This type of hatchet jobs are part of the greatest evils that I have ever seen plaguing our politics in recent time. Having a mole within a folk is a terrible experience that must be vehemently condemned and exposed, that is the price that we owe posterity.

“There are available evidences that revealed the mole behind this repulsive and satanic news planted in some section of the media that Ladi Adebutu was among those who are facing the party’s big stick in Ogun State.

“He is a well known senior political aide to the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El Rufai, who was accepted into the PDP based on the democratic nature of the party just few weeks to its primaries, but he has proved that he is indeed a mole after he lost in the primary and is now implementing the original plans he and his masters had before joining the party.

“His expulsion was based on the recommendations of the disciplinary committee set up by the state executive committee and endorsed by the National Working Committee, NWC PDP which investigated the role of the aspirant and others in the illegal governorship primary election organised by his group in the state.

“He was expelled alongside three others. Four other members of the party were also suspended on the recommendation of the party’s disciplinary committee headed by a revered former Attorney general in Ogun state, Otunba Barr. Tola Adetola.

“This person is the same character who went to Court to create problems for the party with his frivolous and infantile claims that the delegates’ list was purportedly compromised during the 25th May governorship primary held in the state which produced Ladi Adebutu as the legitimate governorship candidate.

“His antics clearly show that he is playing the script of his pay masters. He is a proxy. Unfortunately for him he has met his waterloo, deservedly so!

“The media, all relevant stakeholders in the polity as well as the general public are however advised to take note that a neophyte and political greenhorn like this character and his ilks are on their own and should never be taken seriously in the affairs of the Ogun State chapter of the party.

“For us at Ladi Adebutu Campaign Office, we remain committed to the party’s values, ethos and extant rules and we are as well confident that the Appeal Court will soon exonerate us in a matter of few days by validating the mandate of Adebutu as the authentic standard bearer of the PDP for the 2023 governorship election, and of course, we are not far from landslide victory, because we have the clout, the numerical strength and the people’s support across the entire state.” The statement concluded.
