In an era when role models are becoming hard to find owing to a growing culture of misplaced values in the society, TV broadcaster and talk-show host, Ifeoma Arinze passionately believes this is the best time to initiate a fervent search for individuals that can inspire the youths and adults alike. That is basically the story behind her TV show, aptly called ‘Celebrating Icons With Ify’ TV Show’.

Unique on a number of premises, ‘Celebrating Icons With Ify’, CIWI, which airs on DSTV Channel 420 (Sundays 7:30pm to 8pm) and repeats on GOTV 93 (Tuesdays 8:30pm to 9pm) is packaged to celebrate hard work and hope for people who believe in pursuing noble endeavours by setting goals and achieving them.

Ify, who is not new to the world of broadcasting, having traversed the electronic broadcast industry with stints in media platforms like Channels TV, NTA 2 Lagos, Hot 99.5FM, Imo Broadcasting Corporation ( IBC) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, says CIWI TV show is poised for the global broadcast space in the next couple of months. “We are going global. CIWI TV Show is establishing its presence in the UK and USA. We also have prospects to hook up with the Obamas, the Jesse Jacksons and the Oprah Winfreys, which is why we are seeking global-minded partnerships that can run with this initiative. The idea is to let people know that success is a journey and requires the right attitude and discipline to happen. CIWI as a TV show also has a magazine called ‘CIWI International Magazine’, which sees success from a unique prism. That is why in celebrating icons, it does so by doing a background check on the individuals from the cradle. We talk to his or her relatives, colleagues and childhood friends as a way of highlighting what makes that individual tick,” she says.

A graduate of Accounting and Mass Communication, Ifeoma Arinze who hails from Imo State, has been greatly influenced by American talk show queen, Oprah Winfrey, whom she regards as an icon of global proportion, having influenced generations of TV personalities all over the world.
