Unlike the way and manner in which the Egbas celebrate their hero, the memories from the 2017 Edition of the annual Lisabi Festival still linger in the mind of everyone. This year’s edition, which was chaired by a former military administrator of Sokoto State, Navy Captain Rasheed Raji, focused mainly on agriculture as a way to taking the country out of economic recession. The organizers promised to provide land for interested youths and give them soft loans as startup capitals. Markets in Abeokuta metropolis were closed for two days in honour of the festival.
