Labo Group Boss, Olabisi Akanbi, Bags NANS Excellence Award

Real estate guru and chief executive officer of Labo Business Group, Olabisi Akanbi, has been honoured for his support for youth development, talents in Nigeria.

 

Akanbi, who is at the top of affairs was recognized for his philanthropist and support for the creative industry and real estate maven in Nigeria. He was presented with the award by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and Congress of Nigerian Youth (CONYO) and the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) few days back.

 

 

One of the yardsticks that won Akanbi the annual held award was his entertainment company’s signing of a ace musician, Dotman, who was given a new lease of life.

 

He also regularly made humanitarian interventions to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the locals in Oworonshoki, Lagos, as well as Nigerian creatives at Artistes’ Village, National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos. Since 2004, Akanbi has helped grow the career of numerous Nigerian artistes such as Konga, Sideone, Ecoman and Smapee.

 

 

While making the presentation, Comrade Showunmi Emmanuel, the zonal treasurer of National Association of Nigerian Students, South West, commended Akanbi for his service to the nation and being the voice of Nigerian youths.

 

 

According to him, the award is presented “in recognition of your passionate professional capabilities, outstanding leadership acumen, commitment, integrity and professionalism, various youth empowerment programmes, extensive knowledge in job creation and employment and selfless service to humanity.”

 

 

Comrade Olasunkanmi Ijaduoye, President, the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) added that the Leadership award was conferred in recognition of Akanbi’s administrative and business acumen, his professional capabilities as well as his unrelenting commitment to youth developmental and philanthropic projects in the nation.

 

 

Ijaduoye highlighted that through Labo Group, many jobs have been created and the contributions of Labo Group to the real estate, entertainment, automobile, public relations and other sectors cannot be underestimated. Through Labo Foundation, he said many people have been uplifted from extreme poverty and lack of basic needs.

 

 

In his commendation, Ambassador Abd’Mumeen Ibraheem, National Chairman, Congress of Nigerian Youth (CONYO), said;

 

“Indeed, you have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the Nigerian economy and have become a reference for other indigenous companies.”

 

 

Describing the recognition as a pat on the back, Olabisi Akanbi restated his commitment to continue to impart the society especially through his Labo Foundation and Labo Entertainment.
