The FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said it will take the agency a long time to replace the looted items by hoodlums in the city under the pretext of EndSARS protest, the Director-General of FEMA, Abbas Idris disclosed on Wednesday.

Hoodlums had invaded warehouses at various locations in Abuja and parted with loads of items including motorcycles, bags of rice, cereals, textiles, equipment, among others.

Idris said the hoodlums who looted the items kept at various warehouses meant for distribution to the populace in the capital city, destroyed many workshop equipment and facilities.

According to him, authorities in the capital city had taken all the necessary steps for a successful distribution of palliatives to the targeted beneficiaries.

Idris said, “Items kept at the warehouses were donated by development partners and we were at the verge of subsequent batches of the distribution of palliatives when the hoodlums descended upon the items.

“Our agency will welcome whomsoever wants find out the arrangement we had made and the criterion used for the successful distribution of palliatives in Abuja. We have made sure there is transparency in our dealings.”
