Egbe Bobagunwa Okunrin Will Be Viable Alternative To Age-Groups In Ijebuland, Says Giwa Adebayo Mosuro, Hails Awujale

The leadership of the Egbe Bobagunwa Okunrin Akile Ijebu has commended Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona for admitting the age-group into the comity of Regberegbe in Ijebuland.

 

Speaking yesterday at an interactive session with newsmen, Giwa Adebayo Mosuro who raised chants of praises to acknowledge the fatherly and leadership role of the monarch added that it is with utmost joy for the group to receive the official recognition and royal blessing of the Awujale.

 

Mosuro said his group will through developmental policies would create a viable alternative to age-groups in Ijebu kingdom, stressed that the socio-cultural festival which attracts thousands of people to Ijebu-Ode annually has continued to promote tourism beyond borders as well as the rich cultural heritage of the Ijebu people.

 

The Giwa nevertheless expressed appreciation to the Giwa In Council, Council of Chiefs, the 2023 Ojude-Oba planning committee and all members of the age-group for contributing immensely to the success of the festival.

 

He urged stakeholders to see the Ojude Oba festival as a platform to showcase the entrepreneurial ingenuity of Nigerians and promote trade as well as the country’s tourism and hospitality industry.
