The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) has described as unfounded and baseless rumour, a social media report going round that former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the last general elections in Oyo State, Mr Adebayo Adelabu is planning to resign from the APC, a move the report opined that is not unconnected to the emergence of Mr Odunewu as Oyo State chairman of the party.
According to a source who claims anonymity, Mr Adelabu has always been a loyal party man who has continued to contribute to the development of the party, using all his available resources which has made Oyo APC a formidable party to beat in the state.
The source while noting that the news was nothing but a distraction from the enemies ahead of the 2023 general elections said the mission of peddlers of such rumour was to truncate the unity of the APC, adding even those that left in the past have started to return.
According to another source, Mr Bayo Adelabu is not ready to allow such unfounded news distract him from working towards making Oyo State great once again, adding that with unity of purpose among party members across the length and breadth of the state, APC will wrestle power from the non-performing PDP led government in 2023.
