The popular Kenyatta market in Enugu was agog last week when several Dangote cement consumers were presented with their winning prizes by the company to their amazement.
Of note was a 47-year-old Onovo Paul Emeka, a block maker, who was presented with the brand new saloon car star prize he won days after surviving an okada crash that broke his leg and had to come to collect the car on crutches.
He was full of appreciation to Dangote Cement for the promo; saying if he had won earlier, he probably would not have had the motorcycle accident.
Independent Non-Executive Director of Dangote Cement, Emmanuel Ikazoboh who presented the car said Dangote cement will always make the customers happy by adequately giving them back what is due to them. The promo, according to him, is another way of giving back to the society.
He said, “If you notice the people that have been winning the cars so far, you will agree with me that these are people who really need the cars. The promo is real. These people are traceable and you are free to contact them at will…All a consumer has to do is to buy any of the Dangote Cement products and open the bag, scratch the card inside and what you see is what you win”.
Marketing Director, Dangote Cement, Mrs. Funmi Sanni said Dangote Cement decided to run the biggest promo ever in Nigeria as a way of contributing to the economic wellbeing of the consumers of its products given the prevailing economic situation.
Commenting on the transparency of the Promo, Funmi Sanni said: “We have made it so transparent that you don’t have to go through any raffle or draw associated with many other promotions in the country. You win instantly because what is revealed in the scratch card is what you win”.
Mrs. Sanni explained that the consumer promo was in line with the mission of the company which is to touch the lives of the people by providing their basic needs, and pointed out that the consumer promotion is another huge investment to help the customers improve their rate of sales and make more profit while at the same time improve the consumers’ quality of life. “We are doing this for the sake of our consumers who have not really benefitted much from our previous promo.”
The winner of the star prize, Onovo Paul Emeka thanked the management of Dangote and promised to do all within him to convince Nigerians to aggressively buy all the company’s products.
He said: “I am happy. I am very happy. You can all see the way I came here today, I am sure all Nigerians will by this be convinced that Dangote is the best company in Nigeria. The company is credible and it is truly a company that has cared passionately for its customers. Henceforth, all my family members and even friends will only use Dangote products. I will forever appreciate this noble gesture from the company.”
The Dangote Cement ‘Bag of Goodies’ promo, which began nationwide in July and is to run till September ending, has so far yielded numerous winners of prizes in various categories.
Among other unique gifts, a total of 43 brand new cars, cash prizes of N200 million, 24 tricycles, 500 refrigerators, 24 motorcycles, 400 television sets, generators, Goodies packs are available for winners in a promo, which has generated so much excitement among Nigeria, with over 21 million lucky winners targeted.
