Catch Key Olympics Games This Week Live on DStv and GOtv

DStv and GOtv customers get to watch the world’s biggest and most diverse celebration of sport, the Summer Olympic Games, live on SuperSport, from 23 July to 8 August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.

The Olympics Games have a huge variety of sports on offer, with thousands of world class athletes from around the world set to entertain for over two weeks of incredible action.

Sunday, 1 August is all about the Men’s 100m Final – traditionally one of the highlights of any Olympic Games. The Athletics will take centre stage with Session 6 (1am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 4 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 1) and Session 7 (10:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 4 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 1). Africa will be hoping to see Akani Simbine strut his stuff after recently breaking the continent’s 100m record with a 9.84s time in Hungary.

Sunday also sees Egypt’s Men’s Handball team in action against Bahrain (2:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 6, DStv channel 207) and Tunisia’s Men’s Volleyball team come up against ROC (6:10am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 3 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 2).

Monday, 2 August sees the Athletics stage several key finals, with major African interest in the Men’s 3000m Steeplechase Final and Women’s 5000m Final – as Abraham Kibiwott, Benjamin Kigen, Leonard Bett and Hellen Obiri all chase glory. Catch all the action with Session 8 (12:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 4 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 1) and Session 9 (10:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 4 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 1).

Monday also features key Women’s Basketball action, as Nigeria take on host nation Japan (1:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 3 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 3), before the Women’s Football Semi-finals take centre stage later in the morning (8:50am and 11:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 3 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 2).

Tuesday, 3 August is another busy day for Finals in Athletics, with the Men’s 400m Hurdles, Women’s 200m and Women’s 800m – catch all the action from Session 10 (12:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 4 and SuperSport Olympic 1) and Session 11 (10:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 4 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 1).

Tuesday also sees the Men’s Football Semi-finals (8:50am and 11:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 3 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 2), as well as the Gold Medal Match for the Men’s Welterweight Boxing, where Africans Stephen Zimba, Albert Mengue, Shadiri Bwogi, Merven Clair and Thabiso Dlamini will have represented the continent with pride.

Wednesday, 4 August is yet another busy day in Athletics, with Session 12 (12:50am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 4 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 1) and Session 13 (11:20am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 4 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 1) seeing Finals for the likes of the Men’s 200m and Women’s 3000m Steeplechase. In the latter event, Kenya’s Beatrice Chepkoech will chase her first Olympic Medal.

The day also features Women’s Skateboarding, with the Park Final (4:25am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 7, DStv channel 208), as well as more Gold Medal Match action from Men’s Boxing, as the Light Heavyweight tournament comes to a close (7:35am LIVE on SuperSport Olympic 3 and SuperSport GOtv Olympic 2). This is the division that the great Muhammad Ali won Gold in way back in 1960 in Rome.
