Change Initiative Network (CIN), a socio political pressure group, has described Nigeria as an a nation where the worst are leading the best, where the business of governance is left to the few who sees governance as opportunity to enrich themselves.

CIN is a group with the mandate to “turn the masses of Nigeria into an army of enlightened and dependable people, thereby producing and birthing a nation of informed, patriotic, motivated and responsible citizens”.

In his new year message, the national coordinator of the group, Mr Sola Adekanmbi, declared that “until the people change, nothing will change.”

Adekanmbi said further that, “we can use CHANGE as slogan till thy kingdom come except we change our orientation, attitudes and character genuine development and progress will remain an illusion. He called on the youths to immediately embark on engagement and networking to ensure only the competent, capable and credible leaders are elected come 2023, the youth must begin without delay to make meaningful impact in their communities, get involved in grassroots politics, participate and be committed to the process that leads to emergence of candidates for elective offices.”

We must learn to produce experts in every field of endeavor, who know how to and can fix our problems by design and not by error, that is the only way the Nation can make meaningful progress.

Mr Adekanmbi, a 2019 aspirant for the state assembly election, stated that Nigerians must learn to produce experts in every field of endeavor, who know how to and can fix her problems by design and not by error, which is the only way the nation can make meaningful progress.

He lamented what he called the lackadaisical attitude of Nigerians towards deciding who represent or govern them, adding that his experience in politics and election clearly shows that larger percentage of people with voter’s card obtain the cards for financial transactions or means of identification rather than the original purpose, giving Lagos as an example where he said though there are over 6 million people in possession of voter’s cards, an average of one million votes are recorded during the general election.
