An Imo State House of Assembly aspirant, Chief Uba James Esile, has promised to reclaim the lost glory of Onuimo Local Government Area, if elected as their representative.

The aspirant, who is running on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, stated this while making his intention to represent Onuimo Local Government Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly known.

According to Esile, his core focus as a member of the state legislature will be youth empowerment, infrastructural development and good
governance.

Esile, who has been adopted by the people of the constituency, stated this in an interview, pledging to involve the youth in every government decision making process and also bring governance to the grass root.

He said: “Education and skill acquisition will be my priority areas. One sure way to reclaim the glory of our people is empowering the youth through education and and skill acquisition. Gone are the days when politicians use youths as thugs and abandon them when they get into office. My desire is to empower as many youths as possible and see them climb up in the ladder of life.

Esile, who insisted that Onuimo Local Government Area has suffered marginalization in the past that resulted in untold hardship and backwardness both in human capital, education and infrastructural development, vowed to return the lost glory  of the constituency if elected as their representative come 2019 as he will change the dynamics of the constituency.

“I am standing for election because I want to serve my people and correct the wrongs of the past. Our people have been marginalized and this has shown in the gross decay noticeable all over the constituency.

“I am using this opportunity to call on all sons and daughters of Onuimo to join the fresh air train so that together, we can rescue our dear land and secure the future of our land and youths.”
