As the race to the Oke-Mosan governor’s office in Abeokuta intensifies, those eyeing the coveted seat of the governor have started making moves to emerge victorious.  Some of those who have  shown their interest include Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly referred to as Yayi, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Otunba Rotimi Paseda, Honourable Ladi Adebutu amongst host of others. Some of the known members of different political parties in the state have been decamping en masse to the camp of the Senator, who is believed to be enjoying the support of former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Though Senator Mustapha has not disclosed the party on which he will contest, the two times House of Representatives member and one term Senator moved to the Labour Party (LP) shortly before the 2015 general elections. Honourable Ladi Adebutu, who is the son of a billionaire business magnate and philanthropist, Sir Kessington Adebutu, leads a faction of the PDP in Ogun State and has former Chairman of Ifo Local Government Area, Sikirullai Ogundele as the factional chairman.  Prince Paseda has also continued to make moves at becoming the number one citizen of the gateway state. Although he contested the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state on the platform of the resuscitated Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) and lost to Amosun, Paseda had since vowed to actualize the  welfarist programmes of the Old UPN under the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, if given the chance.
