The secret marriage to pretty Maryam, a.k.a Mairo Black, we gathered, was done as a safeguard against domestic trouble it may cost the governor.
Sources privy to the love affair between the two divulged to us that Mairo, who had worked in telecoms, oil and gas, IT, and energy
sectors, has been Tambuwal’s secret mistress for years, far before the governor became House Speaker.
In fact, based on the said domestic palaver, the governor was said to have been prepared to take Mairo to the altar but had to stop based on reasons he allegedly said was ‘personal’.
The Nikkah, we learnt, was held at the residence of Mairo’s guardian, Lawal Mukhtar, in Kano.
