A member of the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Rural Development, Honourable Oladipupo Adebutu is set to dump his governorship ambition.
This is due to the Court of Appeal ruling on the leadership crisis rocking the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which favoured the Senator Ali Modu Sherif faction against the faction of Senator Ahmed Markafi where he belongs.
The judgment, which seems like a threat to his gubernatorial goal, may have forced him to change his next political move.
Since he is not in good terms with Senator Buruji Kashamu, who is also from Ogun State, Honourable Adebutu may be looking for an alternative.
Gist merchants have it that the best bet for him now is to either return to the House of Representatives or defect to another political party, where he could contest for the senatorial seat.
