The Chairman of Poshhills Entertainment, Mr. Olufemi Olusanya, in this interview, speaks on his business and success secrets. Excerpt…

Could we know more about you?

Hi! My name is Olufemi Olusanya a.k.a Femi Posh, CEO Poshhills Entertainment, a subsidiary of Poshhills Marvels Ltd.

How did you start entertainment?

It all began during university days when I developed love for parties and events. When I travelled to Asia, I saw a large number of Africans but there was no real event bringing them together. I saw opportunity in that. I started by bringing artistes from Nigeria to different parts of the world just for my African people to feel the rhythm even though they are far from home. I started bringing the likes of Duncan Mighty, Kas, Naeto C, Brymo, 2face, Lil kesh, Olamide,Davido and many more. Eventually, I ran a series of clubs in Asia.

Can you remember your first event as a promoter?

Yes, and that was Duncan Mighty live in Malaysia. It was not easy because there were a few stumbling blocks since we were on a foreign land. At the end, it was a successful show and the African community loved it because they had longed for such event.

You have done successful events in Malaysia, why the love for the country?

At the time I got to

Malaysia, the country had a lot of Africans. They include South Africans, Botswana, Ugandans, Kenyans, Tanzanians, Zimbabweans and of course Nigerians and many others.

What are your challenges and how did you tackle them?

There were many challenges such as visa processing for artistes and obtaining venues for the events. The authorities were skeptical about Africans gathering in large number, thinking it would eventually end up in violence.

Last month, you had a talk of town pool club event that shook Lagos, tell us about it

A footballer will always be a footballer and a promoter will always be a promoter. Being an elite promoter means mastering the craft of selling ice in winter. We just made the event different from the usual pool party that people see around. It’s a matter of selling the dream that is bigger than the competition.

What stood the event out from other pool events?

From the beginning, we wanted it to stand out from others and it was set up for the elite and socialites of Lagos. One thing we have noticed is that Lagos people want brand, they want luxury, they want exclusivity and they want it on their own soil, they want it in Lagos so we brought them luxury and class.

When is the next edition of the event coming up?

The next one is coming up on Sunday 21st of May 2017 at Tivoli Gardens 2/3 Olokun Close by Ademola Street, off Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

What should the people expect?

Another magnificent pool party and breath-taking event.

How do you unwind?

A glass of brandy, a Cuban cigar, good music, good vibes and the rest is history. That’s the lifestyle.

Tell us about your beautiful family

That is private (laughs).

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

Maldives,  Santorini and South of France.

Any plan to float your own club?

When the time presents itself, we will talk about that.
