Nigerian social media personality, Vincent Martins Otse, widely recognised as VeryDarkMan (VDM) has opened up about a surprising encounter with Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface.
Sharing a video on Wednesday, 15 January, VDM narrated how Boniface initially contacted him on Instagram.
This led to an exchange of phone numbers, allowing the two to continue their conversation on WhatsApp.
During the chat, VDM was astonished to learn that Boniface is from Benin in Edo State.
Admitting he had always thought the football star was from a different ethnic background, he said he had assumed Boniface was Yoruba, Igbo, or Akwa Ibom.
Boniface then offered to gift VDM ₦5 million to support his work online. The social media critic revealed that the footballer exceeded his promise, although he chose not to disclose the exact amount.
Out of gratitude, VDM decided to share ₦2 million of the money with fans, encouraging them to invest in vocational training.
In the video’s caption, VDM wrote, “boniface_jrn won’t like this post but then again he suppose know say I no dey keep quiet for things like this…..plus I am still surprised Victor boniface is from edo state…..anyways follow instructions ooo, make nobody dm me.”
