The publisher of Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com.ng) an online news platform, Emmanuel Ajibulu has congratulated the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of THE CONCLAVE (an online newspaper) Mr. Sufuyan Ojeifo as the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) inducted him and other thirty-eight new members into its fold on Friday night, in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.
This felicitation was contained in a statement signed by Ajibulu and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.
The induction, which held during the grand finale of the four-day annual confab of the Guild, also witnessed a gala night attended by about 300 editors cutting across the print, broadcast and online media in the country.
Ajibulu described Ojeifo as “A competent, highly professional, humble, cerebral, disciplined and thorough bred media practitioner of over three decades who have helped to change the fortunes of modern journalism and have produced many mentees with enviable credentials in the industry.”
The publisher also said “Mr. Sufuyan’s induction was apt and long overdue which further demonstrates that the Guild is an astute body that identifies and reward loyalty, commitment, hard work, sacrifice and recognises individuals who consistently uphold the ethos and ethics of the profession.
“Without mincing words, the NGE has, in this regard, made a strong statement for the fourth estate of the realm as a worthy exemplar that cherishes integrity, dignity and high moral rectitude.
“Similarly, NGE has as well redoubled its efforts to place the noble profession in a prime position to continually fulfil its constitutional obligation of serving as a watchdog of the people in checking the excesses of government and promoting the greatest good of the greatest number of our people no matter whose ox is gored.” Ajibulu concluded.
