Wanton destruction of properties both public and private owned across the country due to hoodlums hijack of peaceful protests tagged #endsars has led many to start counting losses.

Directly or indirectly, one of the victims of the mayhem is veteran musician, Evangelist (Prof.) Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi whose police station built by him at him native town, Idogo/Yewa in Ogun State, was completely razed down.

The police station which was built and equipped for the town some years ago, to curb the menace of armed robbery within around the town, stands as one of his legacies for Idogo/Yewa.

According to the President of Idogo Development Forum, and the Aare Amuludun of the town, Kabiesi Olomide Osoba, “It is unfortunate that the situation degenerated to that level of burning and destruction of public and private properties”.

The vandals, according to him, though not from the town, would soon be caught by the long arm of the law.

For the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Saheed Adio Adewale Olubiyi, this is one too many. “Apart from the police station, they also destroyed our electricity transformer, part of the civil defence building and few other places.

Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi donated the police station to the town to assist with security challenges. He also did many other things for us including completion of the town hall, he built school, civil defense office, among others. We won’t tolerate this attitude in the near future. This is a peaceful town and hoodlums can not come and truncate our peaceful coexistence.”
