US Based Philanthropist, Tokunbo Olukoya, Boosts Ogun Healthcare Scheme

Worried by the poor healthcare delivery in her community, a United States of America based philanthropist, Dr. Tokunbo Olukoya, last Friday, handed over to Ogun State government, the Oke-Ogbe Primary Healthcare facility in Ago-Iwoye which he renovated for the community use.

 

 

 

The renovation worth millions of naira was bankrolled by Olukoya who also expressed his readiness to provide an ambulance and motorcycles for the clinic towards easing the transportation challenges of people of  the community in their need for good healthcare delivery.

 

 

 

Speaking with journalists at the handing over, Olukoya lamented the poor state of the clinic, adding that the inspiration for the renovation of the PHC was borne out of her passion and love for a healthy life for people of the community.

 

“When I came to this community from USA, I was not happy to see the health centre in such a condition. The community people need access to proper health care and this can be possible if there is good health centre.

 

 

 

I will also be giving out medical equipment and I have plans to provide ambulance, motor bikes for people as means of transportation to access better health centre,” he stated.

 

 

While expressing hintention to further equip the facility with necessary drugs and other medical equipments that will enable people of the Oke – Ogbe community access proper and Grade “A” healthcare, Olukoya further disclosed that he is currently building a health pavilion project in Isheri-Olofin in the Ifo Local Government area of the state.

 

 

Olukoya, however, urged the people of the community to make proper use of the newly renovated health centre.
