President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has condemned the Boko Haram attack in Rann, the headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State.
In a tweet on his personal handle ‘@BukolaSaraki’, the President of the Senate described the attack that led to the deaths of several humanitarian workers as cowardly — while also calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
He said: “My prayers are with the people of Rann, Borno State at this time.
“Last night’s despicable attack that led to the deaths of several aid workers is a callous and cowardly act. Our security forces must not relent until they bring the perpetrators of this atrocity to justice.”
Ilobu Bridge Project For Completion Soon
Issues surrounding the 103-year-old Ojutu Bridge , Ilobu has always been in the news , Osun State government and the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yussuff had last year disagreed over the project. The good news for the people of Osun State is that the Federal Government has pledged to complete the Ojutu bridge, Ilobu, Osun State which is to cost N537 million. The Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola stated this while assessing the level of work on the ongoing Federal Government projects in the state. Global Excellence gathered that the minister who was represented by Mr Adetunji Adeoye, the South-West Director of the ministry of Works said he was impressed with the level of work done at the project site. The minister, noted that the contractor had been paid N137 million out of the total contract sum of the project awarded in April,2017. Fashola who also said the government is committed to ensuring that all the ongoing projects in the state and other parts of the country were completed on schedule further said that the infrastructural projects had created jobs for the residents of the state. Also speaking, Mr Wasiu Atitebi, the Federal Controller of Works in the state who told newsmen that the contract was designed to be completed in 12 months said it is already 50 per cent completed and that the government is not owing the contractor. The representative of the company handling the project , Preconsmith Construction Company, Mr Humphrey Eihebholo confirmed that government is not owing the firm and it will be delivered in five months.
