Toyin Amuzu Football Championship Begins Egba Chieftaincy Installation

The Toyin Amuzu Football Championship today kicked off in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as part of activities heralding the Installation of Chief Toyin Amuzu, TA as the Asiwaju Leragun of Egbaland.

 

 

The kick-off by the state Chairman of the Peoples’Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, Alhaji Sikirulai Ogundele which took place at the Kuto Stadium, saw Toyin Amuzu Football Club defeating AR United with 6 goals to nothing.

 

 

The football tournament which has 24 teams participating in the competition later saw
Infinity Football club defeating Gunners football Club with 6 goals to 1, while Kosa Football had 2 goals to beat Yemakol with 1 goal. The last match of the day saw Egba City FC defeating Elite FC with 3 goals to nothing.

 

 

Chief Toyin Amuzu in his Opening speech, said the idea of the football championship was to foster peace among the youth and give support by engaging them positively.

 

 

He assured that the Toyin Amuzu Foundation which organised the competition would continue to strive to better the lots of the citizenry, as a charity group committed to the good of the people and the society at large.

 

 

Certificates were later given to the various teams by the senatorial Chairman of the PDP, Chief Taiwo Akinlabi.

 

 

The programme is expected to continue at the Ake palace ground where the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo would be installing Chief Amuzu as the Asiwaju Leragun of Egbaland, to be followed by a reception.
