The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP primary election for the Kogi State held at the Lokoja stadium was this morning reportedly disrupted by hoodlums.
An account said that at the time the hoodlums gained entry into the election venue and unleashed mayhem, the brother of a former governor of the state, Captain Idris Wada, Engr. Musa Wada, was ‘set to win’ having allegedly secured the support of majority of the delegates.
The thugs, alleged to have been armed with guns, machetes and charms reportedly chased people away from the venue of the election while the security men watched.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, who was overseeing the exercise, was reportedly ferried out of the venue by his official security detail when the situation became uncontrollable.
The Tuesday exercise was believed to have been between Mr. Dino Melaye who is representing Kogi East in the senate, and Wada. Dino reportedly went to the election hoping yo pull the west and the central zones together to neutralize the buildup from the East.
Meanwhile, the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello has vowed that in his quest for a second term in office, he is capable of defeating any candidate fielded by opposition parties.
