joeA U.S based soccer enthusiast, Dr. Joe Adesesan Ogunsanya, has built a private stadium in Ogun State, Nigeria.

The 3,000 seating capacity stadium (JC Stadium) is located at  Km 45, Papalanto Sagamu Express Way, Obafemi Owode Egba Local Government in Ogun State. The stadium boasts of the state-of-the-art facilities which include a FIFA standard goal posts, weight room with modern equipment, 24 hours security, restroom for both male and female, professional video coverage stand, professional photographer stand, Dressing room for home and away teams, PA announcement and final game day DJ.

Dr. Ogunsanya, a Ph.D. holder and currently an advanced licensed soccer coach in the state of Maryland in the United States, revealed that his desire to contribute his own quota towards the development of his community motivated him to build the stadium.

“I was a soccer player and now a coach. My siblings came to the United States on sport scholarships. As a soccer lover, I chose to contribute to the development of the sport and also to motivate the youth in the community and I believe the best way to do this is to build a private stadium,” he said.

According to him, the stadium is available for competitive matches, training, camping, and field rental for church, mosque and sporting events.

The formal launching and opening of the stadium has been scheduled for August 6, 2016. The ceremony is expected to be attended by the royal fathers, sports administrators and other dignitaries in Nigeria.
