It was clink of glasses in Senator Ademola Adeleke’s camp penultimate Friday as the Court of Appeal, Akure declared decision to set aside the interlocutory order earlier secured courtesy of Justice Saka Falola of Osun State High Court, Ikirun removing Chief Sunday Bisi as Osun State PDP Chairman.
‘I am convinced that the plaintiff has made out a good case, sufficient enough to grant him the prayers contained in the motion exparte for mandatory interim injunctive order.
The effect of this is that the plaintiff, Hon. Adesoji Adagunodo shall return to the office and resume duty as Chairman, People’s Democratic Party, Osun State with full rights and privileges forthwith’, Justice Saka Falola of Osun State High Court, Ikirun had ruled in November last year.
Hon. Soji Adagunodo had on 30th April, 2020 been asked to step aside as Chairman, Osun State PDP and he was later removed as Chairman by the party’s National Working Committee.
While his deputy, Chief Sunday Atidade had earlier been asked to take charge as acting chairman, Chief Sunday Bisi was later named as new chairman by the PDP NWC.
Nothing daunted, Adagunodo approached the court to challenge his removal by the NWC and he eventually returned to work on Friday, November 6, 2020.
Hearing the petition filed by Chief Sunday Bisi challenging the High Court order removing him as Osun State PDP Chairman, the Court of Appeal, Akure on Friday vacated the order and had him returned as chairman.
Reacting to the court ruling, Chief Sunday Bisi asked leaders and members of the party in particular to see the appeal court judgment as an opportunity to step in and satisfy the yearnings of the people of the state for a political party that will give them succour and return sanity to the state.
‘I appeal to our leaders across the state to stand and be counted at this time to mend fences without delay to stand the party in good stead for the onerous task of rescuing our dear state from the uncompromising carnivores devouring the state into carcass’, Sunday Bisi said.
The chairman also promised to redouble his efforts in reconciling all interests in the party for the sake of lasting peace and unity in the party.
Chief Sunday Bisi is a loyalist of Senator Ademola Adeleke while Adagunodo is being backed by Chief Akin Ogunbiyi.
