A Southwest governor is now the subject of discussion among his aides and members of the public who are privileged to be aware of his mishandling of five billion naira state money.

The chubby governor satirists love to call ‘Mr Authority’, Global Excellence magazine learned from an insider, secured the money on loan for the state farmers. But he sat on it as the election time approached, the source stated.

“The money was originally meant for the farmers. The governor got the N5 billion promising to distribute the money to farmers while he begged them for votes to install his men at local government councils and his successor as governor in 2019. But the money never came to the farmers as promised,” squealed the source.

According to the source, the state’s accountant-general, the chief of staff and the assembly speaker who is now deceased, all were in cahoots to sit on the fund.

The source said that there was controversy later about where to keep the money so that it doesn’t raise dusts. While the governor allegedly convinced the late speaker to keep the fund in his personal bank account, others feared keeping such a huge amount in private account could attract the attention of EFCC which could turn it to an issue too hot to handle.

Where and how the fund is hidden is presently a misery, according to the source.
