It is commonly said that a desire fueled by passion brings about the greatest results in life. This is about Bukola Olopade, the cerebral youths and sports commissioner in Ogun State during the time of Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s governorship.
As finding what one is passionate about is a journey in itself, insiders say Bukola recognizes what he is passionate about, sports that is, and he puts his skills to good use in it.
The recently held Access Bank Lagos City Marathon may have come and gone, but the memories of the international sports carnival still lingers because of the expertise of the likes of Bukola who set a record while the exercise lasted with his sports management outfit, Nilayo Sports management Ltd. The credits for the uniqueness of the 2017 edition of the marathon, we were told, should go to Bukola whose outfit handled the planning and execution almost without fault.
Currently the president of the Wheelchair Basketball Federation and member of the board of Nigerian Football League, the ex-two-time commissioner reportedly added new twists to the exercise which earned it the international focus, presence and rating. Bukola reportedly introduced Nigerian winners reward for the marathon presumably dominated by world long distance athletes, especially Kenyans.
