Prominent Nigerians in the political, social and business circles are set to grace this year’s edition of Timeline Awareness Initiative Lecture and Awards presentation slated for Lagos Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja.
The event which comes up on Wednesday 3rd July, 2019, according to a statement made available to Global Excellence online, is the third in series and expected to be graced by the likes of former governor of Abia State and newly elected senator, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu.
Also, on the list of dignitaries expected at the event are former minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed; managing director of Eleganza Industries, Chief (Mrs.) Folashade Okoya; Speaker, Lagos House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, among others. These personalities are billed to be honoured with excellence awards on that day.
The annual educative programme put together by popular online newspaper, TimelineNG, according to the statement, “was designed three years ago as a socio-political awareness platform geared toward contributing to the social and political development of the country especially at a point new state officials were elected into office.”
At this year’s edition, we gathered, the organizers have picked as guest speaker a popular politician, lawyer and lawmaker with a great affection for the media, Hon Tunde Braimoh, who was a committee chairman on information and strategy in the Lagos State House of Assembly. The theme of the event is ‘Imperative of Effective Collaboration With The Media In Lawmaking, Setting Agenda For 9th Assembly’.
“The event which promises to be epoch-making will be chaired by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu while a former governorship aspirant in Ogun State with twelve years experience as a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade will be the special guest of honor,” the statement reads.
While Mrs Okoya would be honoured for her efforts in giving the Eleganza Industry a new face, Senator Bayo Osinowo popularly known as Pepper, will be decorated for his meritorious service as a four-term member of the Lagos State Assembly.
