Customs boss, Ahmid Ali

, has demanded that the authority reopen the abandoned investigation into illegal arms and ammunition brought into the country in 2010, which it says has continued to raise dust, stressing that the officer representing the company that carried out examination on the containers, Adeoluwa Agbebiyi, who discovered 24 crates of rocket launchers and other weapon of mass destruction still needs to be prosecuted

According to MRC, “the concerned authorities need to prosecute those involved and Adeoluwa Agbebiyi, because he is the primary signature to the clearing papers and pays import dues.

They should also make public the results of their years long investigation and bring culprits to book.

As a privilege insider, the then Lagos State Police Command commissioner Marvel Akpoyibo, we recalled with combined security operatives intercepted the containers Laden with arms and ammunition including rocket launchers, cartridges and hand grenades at the AP Moller terminals in Apapa port and nothing concrete is yet to be achieved in terms of investigation and prosecution.

The authorities concern must do something now as this will curb incessant killings and importation of arms and ammunition into the country.”
