One encounter with Evangelist Damola Omonijo, a Gospel music minister, would wire you into another realm of glory, as revealed in this chat.

“I started my journey into the music arena from primary school as a member of school and church choir with intention of becoming music minister but, as I was growing up the church responsibilities was increasing and I became church choir mistress, later District Good women choir coordinator, I graduated to zonal coordinator. I have been in music production and business in the last 25 years and as a professional singer I’m just 12 years in the music industry.”

As the new Governor of Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter. What is your plan for the association?

“I joined Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria (GOMAN) in 2009. I have served in different capacities before I was elected as the Governor in the election that was held at Sagamu on June 12, 2019. My Vision is to propagate the gospel, preach oneness, love and unity all over the world through my music while my mission is to draw souls back to Christ and build a strong moral values into members of my noble association anywhere we find ourselves. I want to give Ogun GOMAN a face lift; I want to rebrand the association and sensitized the existing members on the need to walk in unity.”

Evangelist Omonijo also revealed that, “I do ask myself one question, which is, how did I turn to be a musician? But, believe me it was a divine grace of God for me to become a musician because none of my family members is a musician. It is a call to service made by God Himself.

I have no better option than to answer and today I am enjoying His favour in the ministry. Those who knew my youthful age says that whenever I was sent on errand, I couldn’t do without singing and praising God which I didn’t even notice and some said that it was likely I became one of the gospel musicians which they didn’t tell me. Some said, they knew something like this would happen to me someday. I give glory to God for the fulfillment of the prophesy.”

How many albums do you have to your credit?
