On our website publication of Sunday, January 24, 2021, we published a story titled “FMC Abeokuta MD, Prof Musa Olomu, Swims in Alleged Identity, Hospital Items Purchase Frauds”. We have since discovered that the story, filed in by our Ogun/Oyo correspondent, Mr. Akin Alade, lacks factual substance. On this note, we hereby retract the aforementioned story in its entirety.
Also, we tender our profound apology to Professor Musa Olomu, the highly revered Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, on whom the story touches directly, his family members, the management and entire staff of FMC, Abeokuta, for any inconvenience or embarrassment the publication has caused them.
We hold Professor Musa Olomu, who we have discovered to be an impeccable character, in the highest esteem.
With regard to the above, we would like to inform the general public that all the allegations of fraud mentioned in the said publication regarding Professor Musa Olomu’s professional and leadership competence at the FMC, Abeokuta, are untrue.
However, the publication was not made with any malicious intent to lie against or defame the character of Professor Musa Olomu. Once again, we offer our sincerest apology to Professor Olomu.
