Babagana Kingibe has emerged as ‘Mr Fix It’ for the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The president who we learned is more than determined to get his re-election bid turned into reality has given his kitchen cabinet members to do the needful and work towards getting 2019 eased. Global Excellence has learnt.
Kingibe had been close to Buhari as the PTF Chairman when he also served as Foreign Affairs minister. His recommendation as the strategist came courtesy of the chief of staff, Abba Kyari, a fellow Borno State indigene who also played a good role in the campaign for Sani Abacha’s transmutation into an executive president before the General’s sudden death.
We further gathered that though the president was encouraged to take the step taken in respect of late Chief MKO Abiola and the inconclusive June 12 1993 election, with the aim of wooing the people of the South West, the fact that Kingibe would also be a beneficiary made the power brokers willingly receptive to the suggestion.
Kingibe who has emerged as one of the powerful men in Aso Rock is to have his recognition as a former VP as compensation for a good job since he cannot take up appointment for now since the president may not dissolve his cabinet as anticipated.
