A former military governor of Lagos and Imo States, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, reportedly died of the dreaded Coronavirus at the age of 77. Likewise, top socialite, Dr. Bolu Akin-Olugbade, the Aree Ona Kakanfo of Owu Kingdom, was also killed by the rampaging killer disease. Kanu, who was appointed into the Supreme Military Council headed by the late Head of State, Gen. Murtala Muhammed in 1975, later became a human rights activist after leaving the military. He joined the pro-democracy movement, NADECO, and played a leading role in the agitation for the actualisation of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election. Akin-Olugbade Dr. Akin-Olugbade, sources revealed, died of Covid-19 at the Paelon Covid Center, Ikeja Lagos. He was a successful lawyer with a doctorate in Company Law from Cambridge University, and an unabashed lover of high-end Rolls Royce cars. He is globally reputed to have one of the largest collectors of Rolls Royce.
