The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has reacted to the statement of an Islamic human rights group, Muslim Rights Concern on June 12 protesters, which was released in the early hours of Monday.
The MURIC Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola.
MURIC in the statement, had compared President Muhammadu Buhari to Jesus, while explaining that the protesters are ungrateful to the President for honouring the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, late Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola with the recognition of June 12 as the country’s Democracy Day.
A verse from the bible where Jesus healed 10 lepers was referred to in the statement. It also urged President Buhari to ignore those who are ungrateful to him for his works.
However, Primate Elijah Ayodele has shown his displeasure at this comparison made by MURIC, describing it as blasphemy. The man of God sent a warning to MURIC not to compare Jesus Christ to a mere mortal  as he sees it as a huge disrespect.
He said:
“Government celebrates nonsense. An organization like MURIC is a disgrace to the religious sector. Comparing our Lord Jesus Christ to a mere mortal like President Buhari is blasphemy.
“If this was a Christian organisation comparing someone to Mohammed (SAW), it would have become something else. Who is President Buhari before Jesus?
Meanwhile, Primate Ayodele has frowned at the situation that has rocked the Christian world especially in Nigeria.
In a statement released by his media office, Ayodele made it known that some Christian leaders like the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, The founder of Living Faith Bible Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, the Founder Of Household Of God International Ministry, Rev Chris Okotie, some Christian bodies that include CAN, PFN are threat to the unity of Christianity.
The man of God referred to the death of Prophet T.B. Joshua who passed on some weeks ago, while making it known that several Christian leaders found it difficult to send condolence messages to his family members despite the fact that he was a Christian before he died.
He explained that many of them have publicly accused him of being a wizard and that he isn’t a true Christian despite the fact that they claim to have gone to bible schools to learn deep things about what the word of God says.
Primate Ayodele noted that the love and unity in Christianity have been destroyed by top men of God with the spirit of envy and hatred.

‘’Christians are the problem of the church, everyone will die one day but it’s unfortunate that a Christian brother died and the so called big pastors can’t say a word of condolence, is that how good leaders act? What they have done is wrong, what does it take CAN, PFN to come out when the death happened to pay condolences?
Prof. Ishaq Akintola
The likes of Chris Okotie went ahead to call T.B. Joshua a wizard, some called him devil while he was alive, was it God that revealed that to them that He is working for the devil? Why not bring an evidence? God is going to condemn a lot of pastors.
Christians are the problems of Nigeria, they don’t have love, they have different doctrines and some preaching are not even biblical. When the beloved son of Pastor Adeboye died, T.B. Joshua sent condolences and ordered a one minute moment of silence to honour the deceased but now that he is dead, what have they done? This is part of hooliganism in Christianity, it’s quite unfortunate. I’m highly disappointed in Pastor Adeboye who is seen as a prominent Christian leader for keeping silent on this. Every one of us will die someday.
This is not the time for hatred, there is so much hatred in Christianity and that is why I will never join CAN, PFN or any Christian association, they are associations of envy and hatred, they claim that they went to bible school, is that what the bible taught them? If at all TB Joshua offended anyone, why can’t they forgive him? they should all change because they are getting older.
CAN and PFN are just associations for the government and for personal gains. These associations are not biblical. I have no apology, I don’t want anyone to like me, I am saying this the way I feel, this is a time when we need love and unity in Christianity but those we regard as leaders have killed the spirit of love in Christianity. The administrators of this association are selfish, greedy and totally self-centered.
We need to support one another, let the bigger pastors help the smaller ones to grow, that’s what we need in Christianity and not all these associations causing division.’’
