PDP Okays Six Aspirants For Osun Guber Election

Six gubernatorial aspirants of the leading opposition party in Osun State, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)  were last week cleared to participate in the party’s gubernatorial primary election.

The gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold on July 16.

Mohammed Adoke,  who served as Chairman of the  Screening Committee  said  the six aspirants who turned out for the exercise were screened, adding that it was transparent and fair.

‘We ensured that we executed the mandate given to us by the party. We ensured that we worked with the dictates of our conscience and dictates of fairness.

As a party in opposition preparing to win the next election, we ensured we built the necessary trust within party members so that we can work in tandem with our objective, which is to win the Osun election’, he said.

The six guber aspirants cleared to participate in the gubernatorial primary are Prince Dotun Babayemi, Hon. Sanya Omirin, Mr Dele Adeleke, former senator Ademola Adeleke , Alhaji Fatahi Akinbade and Dr Akin Ogunbiyi.

The ruling APC also has four gubernatorial aspirants ahead of its primary election; Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and Hon. Najeem Salam.
