The National Executive Committee of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has concluded plans to suspend Senate Minority Leader, Godwill Akpabio from the party over what it termed gross anti party activities, a source has confirmed.
The source added that the former Akwa Ibom Governor was responsible for sabotaging the efforts of the party by divulging all its secret plans to the party’s perceived enemies especially the ruling APC.
According to the source, Akpabio was also the brain behind the irreconcilable rift between President Goodluck Jonathan and Rotimi Ameachi and other party stalwats who broke away from PDP which eventually caused the defeat of the party in 2015.
There are indications that the embattled Senator may lose his seat at the Senate a key reason why he would want to hurriedly pitch his tent with APC.
The social media on Sunday was awash with the Senator’s picture with President Mohammadu Buhari in London. Akpabio was reported to have gone for the perfection of his defection plans to the ruling party.
