Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora, NGOs and CSOs,  Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru  refrained from getting drawn into the controversy over the planned change in Osun State education policy penultimate week.

Ajibola said he has an ‘exceptionally’ busy schedule  that has kept him in Abuja and therefore hindered him from commenting on  developments  back home in Osun State.

A 13-man committee set up by the Osun State government to review some policies in the state education sector had  a few days ago asked Governor Gboyega Oyetola to reverse the single school uniform policy introduced by his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Ajibola is a die-hard supporter and a  foot soldier of Aregbesola who is currently the Minister of Interior.

The senator who has obviously learned the ropes and mastered ‘political’ terrain very well was diplomatic while answering the question.

Rather than being blunt without regard to diplomacy as  he would have done years ago, Ajibola simply declared that he has been busy in Abuja and will therefore exercise self-restraint and not comment on such issue.

‘You asked me a question concerning the Osun education policy; presently, I’m working in the senate, I’m concentrating on my work as  senator,  and from what you have seen in my paper  at the risk of sounding immodest,  I have been a very busy  senator so I don’t think  I can comment on that’, he said.
