Osun ‘s first class monarch, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi is in a happy mood. The top oba added a year last Friday and it was clink of glasses at the palace. Oba Akanbi, a Canada returnee has since his emergence as monarch created several platforms through which he has touched the lives of his subjects positively. He also a few days ago donated a multi-million naira hospital equipment for the use of a hospital in Iwo.

Meanwhile, the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hameed Adekunle Makama has praised the Oluwo for his  uncommon philanthropic activities  and for creating viable platforms through which he has touched people’s lives positively.  The Olowu of  Kuta, Oba Hameed Adekunle Makama  who described the monarch  as someone that is good-hearted stated this  on Friday in his congratulatory  message to Oba Adewale Akanbi  on his 51st birthday.  

Oba Makama who is the Chairman, Council of Owu Obas noted that the emergence  of Oba Akanbi as the Oluwo of Iwo has further strengthened his belief in the younger generation for leadership roles in all spheres of life as the Oluwo, has according to him exhibited sterling leadership qualities and showed deep understanding of the history of Iwo land and that of  the entire Yoruba nation. Oba Ahmed Makama wished the monarch many more years of service to Iwo land, Osun State and the nation as a whole.  ‘To say that you have been a source of strength and happiness to many is an understatement.  Apart from your immediate family, you have also extended your passion for the welfare and human kindness to a larger society through several platforms.

On this occasion of your 51st birthday, I wish you more vigour, good health, wisdom and Allah’s mercy to sustain you and afford you the opportunity to have many more glorious years of selfless service to Iwo land, Osun State  and the nation. Happy birthday and many happy returns of the day. On behalf of my family and the good people of my kingdom, I wish you many years of fruitful contributions to the growth and the development of Iwo land”,  he stated.
